This was a "get-together" family. They enjoyed being together and they did it often. Any reason was a good enough reason to get in the car and go where the rest of them were. And there was always food. It didn't matter if 16 people dropped in, Mom - and all the other wives too,- could rustle up enough food to feed everybody.
